Hand Dyed Silk Velvet Purse

Completed a purse today made of some of the silk velvet I have been dyeing.  It will be part of the trunk show in October.  I dyed it brick, kiwi and camel.  I love the colors!  I lined it with black linen.  I added a french button and some other items that I bought at a Paris flea market.

French Fragments Purse

Just finished my first purse.  It's made out of a quilt that I over dyed.  The purse measures about 12"x14".  I used pieces of vintage french fabric that I bought while in France in May.  I also used copies from my collection of old french postcards that I transferred on to fabric.  I lined it in linen.  I hope to make more for my trunk show in Oregon in October.

Patti Digh's New Book

Received my advance copy of Patti Digh's new book, "Four Word Self Help".  My artwork, shown above, was included in the book.  Kind of exciting!  The book is due out in Sept.  I read the book last night and would highly recommend it.

Hand Dyed Silk Velvet Flowers

I have been using the left over pieces of my silk velvet to make flowers.  They are different sizes.  The largest ones are about 2 1/2".  Perfect size to wear on a collar.  These will be at my trunk show in Oregon in October.

I just finished dyeing these two pieces of silk velvet.  I will probably use them on the bottom of my denim jackets.

French Fragments Vest

Finished this vest today. I am doing a trunk show to benefit the Oregon Children's Choir in October in Lake Oswego, Oregon. All the vests will be different with images taken from my collection of antique French postcards. Hand dyed silk velvet ruffle around the bottom.
